Melbourne Awards

Melbourne Open House has won a Melbourne award in the category of “Contribution to profile by a community organisation”. Other finalists in this category included the Melbourne festival, Melbourne Fringe and Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight. Congratulations to Melbourne Open House for putting on such a spectacular event and promoting both architecture and Melbourne so well.

North Bank Development

Shed 5 on the Yarra’s North Bank is in the process of being re-imagined by Cox Architecture. The heritage cargo shed is set to be restored and adapted into an art gallery and studio spaces. This space will flow out into a new public park which will encourage interaction between artists and the public.

At the river’s edge, pedestrian and cycling paths will be improved whilst the historic dock crane will be restored and retained as a piece of Melbourne’s Heritage. Behind Shed 5 will sit a contemporary commercial tower which will allow the project to be commercially viable for the developers.
